Why do portable fingerprint padlocks use capacitive sensors?
Capacitive sensors read ridge patterns in a compact, low-power format suited to rechargeable portable locks.
A capacitive sensor detects differences created by fingerprint ridges and valleys contacting its surface. This approach fits a small padlock body and supports quick local matching.
Recognition still depends on clean contact, complete enrollment, temperature and skin condition. Keep the sensor free of water, oil and abrasive dirt, and enroll backup fingers.
