Does a fingerprint padlock store a photo of my fingerprint?

A fingerprint lock normally creates a mathematical template from ridge features rather than storing an ordinary photograph.

During enrollment, the sensor captures ridge information and the algorithm extracts distinguishing features to create a template. At unlock time, a new scan is compared with enrolled templates.

Storage architecture depends on the exact hardware and firmware. Buyers with privacy or compliance requirements should request the model's biometric-data flow and reset behavior before deployment.
